US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives shared in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
